Obituary NoticeGeo. Ducker Sr. born April 16 1830 at Burnham England. Died Jan. 21 1905 at Red Cloud Neb. Funeral Sunday at 3 p.m. at the M.E. Church Red Cloud. The remains accompanied by his son Bert Ducker and a nephew Dr. Beck were taken to Rose Hill Cemetery seven miles north of Chicago for internment. There will be a funeral ceremony at Chicago under the auspices of the Marshall Field Co. Mr D.having been in the employ of the company continuously for 20 years before coming to Kansas. At Jolliet two nephews Geo. and James Ducker, merchants of the place, accompanied the funeral party on to Chicago. At the age of 27 Mr. Ducker come to America, shortly after his arrival he was engaged as clerk in the big wholesale house of Patter Palmer (Now Marshall Field Co.) where he served 20 years being one of the frms foremost men when resigning 22 years ago on account of failing health. He then come to Smith County locating 9 miles north of where Lebanon now stands buying three quarter sections of land from Wesley Bozarth. He engaged extensively in farming and cattle raising. He lived on his farm until the past eight months when he moved to Red Cloud Neb. Mr. D. was not thought seriously ill up till the time he died. Cancer of the stomach was the cause of death. The deceased only leaves two son Bert of Los. Angeles Cal. and Geo. V Ducker of this place. His wife Having preceded him some 28 years ago, Mr. Ducker will be greatly missed by a host of friends.
