The 1871 census shows William both at his parents as a married farm and builder's labourer (wife not present) and also as a farm labourer with his wife and father-in-law, The 1891 census with his widowed mother present proves that they are the same William, so he was moving between the two dwellings at the time of the 1871 census. This type of census "double entry", whilst not that common, is not rare either.[JDB]
