General Notes: Husband - Giordino Bruno Burgess
According to family lore, Giordino did something that made his father disown him. Whatever it was, his father never spoke of him again, nor would he let Giordino's name be mentioned in his presence.Also, according to his niece Hilda Ashurst nee Burgess, Giordino was in the army and was "drummed out of the army", which was the start of his father's banning him from the family.Giordino borrowed his brother Charles and his wife's life savings and emigrated to Australia where he met his married sister Elizabeth; shortly after this Giordino emigrated to Masterton in New Zealand where he set up a small business with Mr Byrne operating a small car "assembly" garage. Apparently Holden cars were shipped to New Zealand not fully fitted out and the garage completed the cars. He eventually bought out Mr Byrne's share in the garage.[JDB]
