General Notes: Husband - James Duncan

The 1860 Valuation of tenements for the Union of Dungannon, page 252, under the parish of Carnteel (which is Aughnacloy) has a section on Reskatirrif which lists James Duncan who has a "Herd's house and land of 1 acres, a house, office and land of 10 acres together valued at 17.50." In addition there is water- I assume this is a lake.I then idly checked a card index of names and found James Duncan but all it seems to say is that he paid his rent regularly. If someone had time to spare they could probably follow up a cross reference to a file D594 which might tell us more.Ian McDowell.................................................................................................................................................................Transcript of letter dated 1 July 1891 from James Duncan to Samuel Woods of the Miners Association, Brynn on the subject of his orphaned grandchildren:Reaskaterriff,Aughnacloy,Co.
