Will of *Richard Denton d 1764Pontefract Exo… of the Will of Richard Denton late of Purston Jaglin Parish of Fetherstone [sic] was granted to Mary Denton widow & Richard Denton joint Extors 3 October 1764. By Chr Driffeild *31 July 1764 Richard Denton of Purston Blacksmith was buried [Featherstone parish register]In the Name of God Amen I Richard Denton of Purston Jaglin in the County of York Blacksmith being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following-First I order all my just debts and legacies shall be paid by mine Executors hereinafter named. I leave to my two daughters Mary and Betty Denton all the furniture of the room in which I lodge, except the bed in which I lye. I leave to my dear Wife Mary Denton my house and Garden and garth at Purston during her life, and after her decease I leave the same to my younger son Richard Denton and his heirs for ever charged with the several sums of ten pounds to each of my daughters Mary and Betty Denton and twenty pounds to my second son Henry Denton. Will of Robert Denton died Ackworth Moor Top 1812Exon of the will of Robert Denton of Ackworth Moor Top parish of Ackworth was granted to Mary Denton widow his relict and George Denton the joint Executors 4th July 1812 under 450by MarshallThis is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Denton of Ackworth Moor-Top in the Said of York Farmer made the fourth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight at follows First I will and direct all my just Debts and Funeral Expenses shall be fully discharged by my Executors as soon after my decease as may be I give and devise all my Messuages Cottages Lands Tenements and Real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my dear Wife Mary for and during the Term of the natural Life and from and after her decease I give and devise the same unto my Son George Denton his Heirs and Assigns for ever subject nevertheless to and charged and chargeable with the payment of the several Legacies hereinafter by me given (that is to say) To my Daughters Ann Nelstrop and Elizabeth Scholey the sum of One hundred Pounds each which I will shall be paid at the End of Six Calendar Months next after the decease of my said Wife and in Case my said two Daughters or either of them shall happen to die in the Lifetime of my said Wife I will and direct the Legacy above given to her or them so dying shall go and be equally divided amongst the Children of such Daughter dying and likewise to my Daughter Martha Denton the sum of Two hundred Pounds to be paid at the End of Six Calendar Months next after the decease of my said Wife but in Case my said Daughter shall happen to marry in the lifetime of my said Wife then I will the sum of One hundred Pounds part of the said Legacy shall be paid to her at the End of Six Calendar Months next after such her Marriage and the Residue of the said Legacy shall be paid at the time above mentioned and in case my said Daughter Martha shall happen to die before she shall become intitled[sic] to the said Legacy in manner aforesaid then I will the same shall go to and be equally divided between my said two Daughters Nelstrop and Scholey or their Children if dead And I give and bequeath to my worthy Friend Michael Cuttle[1] of Ackworth-Park all my Farming-Stock Tenant-Right Goods and Chattels Cattle Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever Upon Trust in the first place that he my said Trustee shall take or cause to be made (at the expense of my Executors) a fair Valuation and Inventory thereof as soon after my decease as conveniently may be and permit and suffer my said Wife and Son George to have and enjoy the full Use and Benefit thereof during the life of my said Wife for their joint Benefit And after the decease of my said Wife then I will my said Son George shall have the whole of my said Personal Estate and Effects for his own Use and Benefit And it is my will and I do hereby direct that my said Wife shall not be subject to the Controul [sic] or Interference of any Woman my said Son shall think proper to marry and I do nominate and appoint my said Wife and Son joint Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set and subscribed my hand and seal the Day and Year first above written.
